You’ll see how she crafts a wellness vision, clarifies the client’s values, and facilitates values-aligned goal creation. Throughout the session, commentary explains what’s happening and why it matters, allowing you to not only see what great coaching looks like, but also understand how to replicate it. Whether you’re working toward health coaching certification or looking to refine your skills, this episode provides an essential framework for structuring first sessions as a coach.

What You’ll Learn in Episode 1: The Initial Session
In this CEC course, you’ll gain an inside look into the exact techniques that make a first session effective. You’ll learn to:
- Identify the key elements that should be included in a strong initial coaching session, from introductions to wellness vision setting.
- Evaluate how a coach’s presence and empathy impact the client relationship and create trust from day one.
- Analyze techniques such as reflective listening, open-ended questioning, and motivational interviewing.
By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to lead your own initial sessions with confidence and clarity, setting the foundation for transformational coaching relationships.
