Meet Macy, AFPA Certified Prenatal and Postpartum Fitness Specialist

Macy is the owner of Fittest Core, and online training platform and app for women in every stage of their life, including prenatal and postpartum women.

Macy has used her certification to help hundreds of women exercise safely and efficiently throughout pregnancy. Her signature product, Training for Motherhood, is a follow-along workout program she created and used during her pregnancy and now shares with other moms-to-be. It includes safe and appropriate exercises for the first, second, and third trimesters so prenatal people can learn to build and maintain strength and endurance to prepare for labor, delivery, and a healthy postpartum period.

What is a Pre & Postnatal Fitness Specialist?

A Pre & Postnatal Fitness Specialist is a personal trainer or fitness professional that has the training, skills, and certification to work with pregnant and postpartum people. They understand the principles of basic exercise physiology and kinesiology as it relates to pregnancy and design safe and appropriate exercises for prenatal and postpartum clients in the personal training setting.

They work with clients to prepare the body for the physical demands of pregnancy, labor, and delivery, and support moms after baby has been born by helping them to safely resume exercise and regain strength postpartum. 

Prenatal and Postpartum Fitness Specialists are sometime also referred to as Prenatal and Postnatal Exercise Specialists.
