Do You Make These Mistakes in Helping Your Heart?

By:  Alana D. Richardson

One great way to lower one’s cholesterol is through a reliable exercise routine. If you want to get really good results, you need to engage in daily exercise. Daily exercise, however, can be difficult for people who juggle a lot of roles in life. Then again, regular exercise is still possible if you have tried and tested tips to get you to fit it in your life.

a.  How to Get Started

If it’s been sometime since you have exercised, it is best to gently get into it. You should not dive into a heavy routine right away. You should try to work out five days every week. If you are too vigorous with your exercise program, you might end up in pain or you might feel a bit burned out. It is also important to speak to your doctor concerning existing health conditions since he is in the best position to recommend the most appropriate exercise program to maintain your good condition. Much like you prioritize time to see the doctor or your dentist, plug exercise into your life’s most important to-dos. To keep yourself from getting bored with the repetitive exercises, make sure you incorporate various activities and movements to keep a healthy mix of active and interesting things in your routine.

b. Other Things that Count

You can count in daily chores toward your exercise regimen, as long as they help get your heart rate up and get you moving. Many household chores are good forms of exercise, such as running the vacuum, raking leaves or grass and washing your vehicle. You should also look for exercise in other forms, too. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator is a good way to get in some much needed exercise. Stair climbing also builds up the leg muscles and strengthens the heart. You should always look for the longest way to walk when you go about your daily activities. If you are within walking distance to the store or work, break out your running shoes and quit relying on your car to get you there! When you walk, you can help lower your cholesterol as well as lose weight. Another way to walk more is to purposely park far from the store or other destination.

c. Having Time

Busy people, on the other hand, have a hard time fitting in 30-60 minutes worth of exercise in their equally busy schedules. What works better is to chunk up your routine into ten to fifteen minute intervals and still get the same results. A lot of studies show that this is a very good way for you to exercise. As you can see, exercise can be fun while it lowers cholesterol and strengthens your heart at the same time. For amazing results, you should combine weight loss, emotional well-being and strengthening.
